The Non-GMO Project has opened applications for Round 7 of its Equitable Transfer Program (ETP), designed to reduce barriers that have historically limited BIPOC-led brands’ access to third-party verification, capital, and market visibility across food, beverage, and body care products. Applications for the 2026 round are open through March 31, with $10,000 in funding available to eligible brands. (nongmoproject.org)

Since its launch in 2023, ETP has awarded $46,000 to 17 BIPOC-led brands, providing financial support to complete Non-GMO Project verification. This verification process is widely recognized as a standard for transparency in non-GMO labeling, helping brands communicate product integrity to retailers and consumers. By lowering financial and logistical barriers, the program enables smaller, emerging companies to participate in markets that often favor larger, well-capitalized brands.

Beyond verification support, ETP contributes to broader equity in natural products sectors. Access to third-party verification can enhance consumer trust, expand distribution opportunities, and provide market visibility that may have previously been out of reach for underrepresented entrepreneurs. Programs like ETP also highlight the connection between verification, transparency, and inclusion, reinforcing efforts to diversify leadership across the industry.

Round 7 applicants can find full eligibility criteria, submission guidelines, and examples of past recipients on the Non-GMO Project website.
