In response to demand for cleaner, transparent products, Layn Natural Ingredients recently announced it has expanded its line of Non-GMO Project Verified botanical extracts for use in food and beverage applications, including pet food and treats.

Previous offerings from Layn, in its Non-GMO Project Verified line, include plant-based sweeteners such as stevia, monk fruit, sweet blackberry, and NHDC. Now the portfolio has included polyphenol-rich extracts with functional benefits for pet nutrition, dietary supplements, sport nutrition, and food and beverage products.

These new additions include apple, citrus, Galla chinensis, ginger, grape seed, green coffee bean, green tea, magnolia bark, pomegranate, pu’erh tea, rosemary, and Sophora japonica.

According to Layn, the global market for non-GMO ingredients is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 15.7% between 2021 and 2026.
