Cairnspring Mills, based in Burlington Washington, recently achieved Regenerative Organic Certification (ROC).
Cairnspring Mills produces regeneratively and organically grown stone-milled flour and works to preserve the unique agricultural heritage of Washington’s Skagit Valley. They aim to shorten the distance between farmer and customer, build soil health, and conserve farmland.
Cairnspring Mills was founded in 2016 by a group of Skagit Valley farmers, economic development leaders, and bakers, including current founder and CEO Kevin Morse.
Growing up in an Italian-American family, Morse became convinced of the central role community and authentic food like flour plays in life. His later experience as a farmer and Nature Conservancy executive contributed to his interest in rural economic development and rebuilding food systems.
Using a stone milling process, Cairnspring Mills produces a range of regenerative organic flour products. These include Trail Blazer Bread Flour, Glacier Peak Bread Flour, Organic Expresso T85 Bread Flour, Organic Edison T85 Bread Flour, Sequoia T85 All-Purpose Flour, and Organic Whole Grain Expresso Bread Flour.
