Consumer health priorities are evolving towards fiber, healthy fats, and supply chain transparency. Trends that strategic ingredient suppliers and food manufacturers are responding to, discussing, and taking into account at this year’s IFT FIRST Annual Event and Expo in Chicago from July 12th – July 15th, 2026.
Among the trends expected to receive significant attention are ingredients that support satiety, metabolic health, and nutrient density. Growing interest in GLP-1 medications has also increased demand for food products formulated with fiber, protein, and healthy fats that can help consumers meet nutritional needs while managing reduced food intake.
HFI, a supplier of specialty ingredients for the food industry, will be showcasing flax and chia ingredients that provide the dietary fiber and omega fatty acids that are currently in demand. Their IntegriPure® micro-reduction process and specialty milling capabilities are intended to support ingredient consistency and food safety requirements for food manufacturers, and transparency for the consumers. The company will also highlight freeze-dried avocado powder developed through a partnership with OVĀVO.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with ingredient experts, explore emerging product applications featuring fiber and healthy fats, and gain insight into ingredient sourcing, processing, and formulation strategies shaping food innovation in 2026.
